Please Vote for the InfertilityBlog
Dear All,
Congratulations to all of you who read this blog, it has been nominated for the People's HealthBlogger Award. See the yellow blue and orange box to the right? Clicking it would be a great help. Winning would be very helpful because the blog would get more publicity, which will bring us more readers. This in turn could help us get the blog to even more health-related web sites. The voting ends December 15Th.
Thanks for everything through the years.
Dr. Licciardi
PS The company encourages you to ask your contacts to vote too. I guess they want some publicity too, which is fine with me.

Congratulations on the nomination, Dr. Licciardi! Thank you for taking the time to write this blog and answer all our questions!
Your blog is the best. Boohoo, I don't see a box to vote; I'll need more instruction.
Please.
Can you recommend a fellow blogger who blogs women's gyn issues for other than infertility?

Congratulations and best of luck! I've never sent in a question, but I have had so many answered from your blog. It's helped me tremendously in navigating the potentially very bewildering world of fertility treatment. Heartfelt thanks!
I voted! Thanks for the link and yes, there is no blue and orange box on your blog.
congrats on your nomination Dr. Licciardi. I read your blog and it is very informative. thank you.
I have a question for you but wasn't sure how to post it besides on your comments. So here it is. I have done 3 clomid/iui cycles, 2 letrozole/iui cycles and now 1 fsh/iui cycle and am in the 2ww. I have a 3.5yr old (4 months to concieve) and had an ectopic last year (4 months to concieve) methotrexate, no surgery. I am 34 almost 35 and hubby SA is normal execpt high viscosity. If I can't afford IVF should I continue another fsh/iui or is it a waste of time? also do you ever use menopur with iui. I used follistim this last cycle. I had 2 mature follies with this. All my tests are normal. although I think I may have LPD, and take progesterone. I have donor meds. thanks so much!
Dear Dr. Licciardi,
Thank you for your wonderful blog! As a physician, I really appreciate being able to get accurate information on this topic. I do have a question for you. I'm starting my first IVF cycle which kicks off with 21 days of suprefact (buserelin) nasal spray. My question: I'm supposed to start the spray on day 21 of my cycle. Could the spray affect any pregnancy that happened this month? I know it's probably silly to even hope that I could have conceived naturally, but I just had to ask. Thanks! Paige
Can you discuss the use of estrogen supplementation (in addition to progesterone) during the luteal phase for IVF?
Hello Dr Licciardi! Thank you for this wondeful blog!
May I have your thoughts please... We just finished IVF#2 and it was a BFN. I'm 36, I react very well to all the meds (almost had OHSS this time, because we augmented the Gonal-F to 225iu this time, then went back to 150 and even 117.5) and produced 19 follies, 18 eggs and 11 good embryos that were all 8 cell on Day 3, with fragmentation being between 10-20%, maybe more on the 20% side.
My husband has low counts and 3% morph (WHO), so we did ICSI. Everything is textbook, IVF#1 was the same with a total of 6 embryos to transfer, everything but the end result.
Can you suggest something for the upcoming FETs? I'm lost... Thank you so much! I've learned so much in the last years through your blog and most of all, I was able to differenciate between hard facts and Internet myths!
A reader that voted!

Dear Dr Licciardi,
I was wondering if anything had changed on SCSA since you wrote about it last year? Any new serious studies?
Thank you!
Congrats Dr Licciardi!
My wife lost fraternal twins at 8 weeks three years ago and since then, no other pregnancy. We went to see a RE last year and found out I have MFI (20 million, 15% motility and 4% morphology). We did 3 IUIs, 2 fresh cycles (4 and 10 embryos good quality), 1 FET... all negative. We have one FET coming up, but after that, we're not sure if we should continue. Does it seem hopeless? In total, we transferred 7 embryos and none took...
Any information or idea would be appreciated! Thank you.
Congratulations on the nomination Dr Licciardi! Thank you for all you do for us, you are incredibly generous!
Quick question: may a paraovarian cyst of 4 cm near the right ovary can make trouble for implantation while doing IVF? The Dr usually removes the fluid from the cyst during the retrieval, but it comes back of course later.
Thanks!
Congratulations Dr. Licciardi. You sure provide a great service here.
Thank you for this blog. It has been very informative over the years!
My question is can femara oversupress your estrogen leading to very slow growing follicles and a thin lining? This happened on my 2nd cycle of femara, the first cycle response was fine so I am wondering why this happened. Thank you so much!
Also, what do you do if provera does not work to induce menstruation (10days, 10mg)?
Hi Dr Licciardi,
I'm 29 years old, Have had 4 fresh ivf cycles + 1 GIFT, 1 spontaneous pregnancy that miscarried at 8 weeks & 1 chemical pregnancy after an IVF cycle. I make 4-7 eggs with max stimulation, a FSH of 16 and not great embryos, I've had ovarian drilling which damaged my ovaries and have PCOS. My RE is saying I should switch to donor egg AND a surrogate as they are not sure if it is egg qaulity or implantation failure (I had 5 hysteroscopies to correct my uterus following a botched D&C after my miscarriage - uterus now looks 100% on HSG and on office Hysteroscope but RE feels there may be compromised ability for implantation which we cannot see)Do you think this is a bit drastic to go straight to DE and a surrogate without first trying DE in light of my High FSH and poor embryo qaulity and qauntity?
Thanks, Ab
Thank you for your time and attention to all of our fertility matters.
I'm scheduled for a FET in January (we're growing our embryos to blastocysts, transferring two). I just had a uterine polypectomy where two polyps were removed. I'm curious to know your thoughts on how this may affect our chances for implantation. Our first fresh embryo transfer didn't take.
Thanks!
